When did Matt go missing?
Matt was last seen on Thursday, 24th January 2024, leaving Hebden Grammar School at approximately 3.30pm.
Who are Matt’s parents?
Matt’s parents are Dom and Rachel Bickerton, who live locally in Heptonstall. They are working closely with the police and community volunteers in the search for their son.
Who is leading the investigation?
Detective Inspector Stuart Peel of West Yorkshire Police is overseeing the case, supported by specialist officers and community search teams.
Where was Matt last seen?
He was seen leaving Hebden Grammar School and is believed to have taken his usual route home via Brookside Avenue and the woodland path. No confirmed sightings have been reported since.
What was Matt wearing?
A green hoodie, faded jeans, and red sneakers. He was carrying a small red rucksack.
Are there any leads?
Police are following multiple lines of inquiry. A member of the public reported seeing a boy matching Matt’s description near the edge of the woods on the evening he went missing, but this has not been confirmed.

Is there a reward for information?
At this time, the family is focused on finding Matt, but they have not announced a reward. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
